Hey, hi, hello —

I'm so grateful that you found your way here. My name is Anissa (pronounced Uh-Knee-Sa) and I'm a creative at heart. I photograph couples all over Midwest, but am rooted in Wisconsin. I'm passionate about documenting couples, engagements, intimate elopements, and microweddings.

Art has always shaped how I see the world, and photography quickly became a natural extension of me. I’m equally inspired by nature, human connection, and the art of photography. Before returning to photography full-time, I worked as a Clinical Mental Health Therapist. It was an opportunity to deeply understand human emotion and tune into human connection.

My background in therapy has given me a deep understanding of human emotion; what it looks like, how it feels, and attuning to the unspoken moments that hold the meaning.

I approach elopements and microweddings with curiosity, creativity, intuition, and a deep respect for honest moments. At the heart of my approach is a belief that these celebrations are about presence, not performance. I’m here for the couples who genuinely want to enjoy their wedding day. Rather than directing every second, I create space for things to unfold naturally.

My work is for couples who care more about how their wedding feels than how perfectly it’s staged, and who trust their photographer to notice. The ones who value storytelling over spectacle, and emotion over aesthetics, and approaching their day with ease and intention. For me, there is so much more to a wedding than the aesthetic alone; it’s the connection, energy, and values that make it unique. It is a living, breathing day meant to be experienced fully. That’s why I encourage couples to create space to be present, build breathing room into their timelines, guide without over-posing, and document moments as they naturally unfold. My goal is to create a calm, grounded environment that invites real connection.

Though I provide gentle direction and prompting when needed, I have a deep respect for documentary-style photography. I love capturing the raw, experience-led moments. I believe the real magic happens during the little moments in-between. I describe my photography style as organic, earthy, nostalgic.

In my free time I enjoy being barefoot outdoors, sewing + crafting, baking, connecting with my people, reading, all things wellness, eating delicious food, and thrifting.

about me

Coolest thing I've ever done...

jumped out of a plane

You'll find me...

Thrifting, sewing or crafting, reading, barefoot outside or elbow-deep in a new recipe

My favorite places:

outdoors, libraries,

Photography hot take:

trusting my intuition over trends. Sometimes that means breaking the "rules" and I'm okay with that.

Favorite food:

paneer  mushroom masala, smoothies, or cookies (quite the range)

Love language:

Feeding people and making them laugh

"I knew I wanted more candid-style photos, the kind of pictures you look at and feel like you could “hit play” and be taken right back to that moment. People laughing, making silly faces, dancing, telling stories. Anissa captured all the special moments and everything in between so beautifully. I’m so grateful we had her there that day and for the photos of the people we love most that we’ll cherish forever!"
